Timber more than any other single word best sums up Douglas County, after all, the very name of the county Douglas bears the same name as the dominant species of timber in the county, Douglas Fir. However, let us ask the question from a different perspective.

My goodness, how can Hillary Clinton suggest that we simply 'Move On" from the Benghazi scandal. She's completely remorseless regarding her part in the sad affair. Do we really want a President who not only makes such monumental errors in judgement during military crises, but compounds her complicity by attempting to politically whitewash her mistakes? Bill Clinton did exactly the same thing during the Monica Lewinski scandal in which he was impeached for lying to Congress. There is a pattern of misconduct by the Clintons.

The old fire station for Tri City located at 136 N Old Pacific Hwy was originally built in the 1950’s, but has since underwent two remodels. Both were made by volunteers with the first remodel adding the second story office and training room.

Times have changed though, and the new fire station located at 140 S Old Pacific Hwy went into operation this week with the transfer of vehicles and equipment to the new station. To celebrate the event, the Tri City Fire Department is holding an Open House on July 19th, from 11am to 2pm, and the public is invited to attend. A free hot dog BBQ with all the trimmings will be provided, as well as tours of the new fire station, a presentation of the building process, and Sparky the Dog for the kids.
